Last night (the 23rd) we decided to make it the night where we had our own Christmas as a family before we left for Iowa. This consisted of a nice little dinner of lasagna and then opening presents. It was a little more rushed than I anticipated but that is what I get for planning it the night before we left for a week and a half vacation :)! But we still had a lot of fun and Cayden of course loved opening more presents. Here are a few pictures!
Here is our humble little Christmas tree-hoping to get a real one someday :)!

Cayden knows exactly how it is done-just tear through it!

Here is where Cayden said, "Oh wow! A box!" He was actually pretty excited, pretty funny :)!

Here is the classic hammer the peg toy that every child needs to have . . . at least I had one as a child!

Here was my ploy to throw Matthew off on his real present- A Kindle (Birthday/Christmas present). Since that was the only thing he asked for I had to pretend I didn't get that for him so he unwrapped a blanket first and was totally surprised when he opened his real present! And then I didn't even get a picture of the real gift :(

Opening one of his stocking gifts-some new books for our trips we take!

Here was Cayden's main present, a car rug with some new cars. Hopefully this occupies lots of his time when we get back home! This may be wishful thinking as I still think that sports will always be number one to Cayden!

Last but not least, Matthew got me a Wii Fit Plus which I am very excited about using and then after all my workouts he got me a gift certificate to a spa :)!

We spent our day traveling and everything went smoothly. We commented that this was Cayden's best trip by far so this was encouraging and didn't make the day feel so long!! I hope that everyone had a great Christmas Eve as we get ready to celebrate the Savior's birth tomorrow!!!! More to come!!!
