Labor Day Weekend!

For Labor Day weekend (September 2-6) we went up to Seattle to hang out with the De Yager family and some friends! This was our first trip up to Seattle and we found that it takes about 3 hours to get there from our house to my parents house. So at least we are now within driving distance instead of flying distance!!
On Friday we spent the day with the Fousts and Cayden was thrilled to be playing with children again. We had deprived him for a few weeks since we had left California. It was great to hang out with them, meet their new little baby, Luke, and catch up on life! We are glad they live in Washington so we get to see them when we go up there!!
Evan, Cayden, and Alyssa
Evan got a new baseball play set for his birthday so here are the kids trying it out :)!
They all wanted to help put the balls back in!
On Saturday we went to the Evergreen State Fair with my family. It was really fun to take Cayden to his first ever fair. He enjoyed it thoroughly and still talks about it :)
Uncle Brett giving Cayden a ride, Cayden taking it all in!
We went to watch the pig races and Cayden absolutely loved this! He was cheering and clapping like crazy-Strawberry ended up winning the race and Cayden will still tell you about it!

Family picture at the fair!
Aunt Natasha and Uncle Brett with Cayden!
Still 3 feet tall :)
:)
Chocolate milk for 25 cents!!!!
An older man gentleman offered to pay for Cayden to play because they needed more players, so Cayden was pumped about that!
He is acting like he won, but he didn't :)
They had a little "farm" where the children could harvest eggs,
Apples,
Potatoes,
and then bring them to the grocery store!
What a cute activity!
Looking at the animals with Grandma
Then he suckered Grandpa into letting him ride some rides!
He liked this one!
He started off riding this ride and then they had to let him off because he got freaked out. So they stopped the ride to let our little child off :). It was a pretty fast kids ride, I have never seen a kids ride go that fast so I don't blame him!
Then we ended on the Train Ride!
There was nothing smiles here
He loves his trains!
On Sunday we went miniature golfing-Cayden's all time favorite thing to do!
Team #1! We won by the way :)!
Team #2-they tried but better luck next time :)! We aren't competitive or anything!
Family picture
Cayden showing off his orange ball!
Waiting patiently with Grandma for his turn!
Then Uncle Shaun messing around with Cayden. Cayden is always up for a good time!
Since Cayden loves sports, this was a perfect activity for him!
He is actually pretty good at it!
On the practice green, just his size!
On Monday before leaving we stopped at Shaun and Courtney's house to have lunch and celebrate my dad's upcoming birthday!
Pushing Uncle Brett on the swing!
Grandpa and Cayden with the cake!
Trying to get the M&Ms :)
Enjoying the ice cream cake-a family favorite! Happy Birthday Dad and Grandpa!
We then headed home since Matthew started his internship the next day at Western Psychological and Counseling Services. Time to end the summer and start our new chapter in Oregon!

Parents and Grandparents Weekend!

Since Matthew's parents were here, my parents came down to visit with them and see our new place (August 27). So Cayden had double the Grandparents and double the fun :)! We like knowing that our parents get along so well and that we can all spend time together!! Here are some pictures!
Opa and Cayden :)
Cayden showing Grandpa how he can shoot a basketball. I think he needs to work a bit more on his arc :)! This is actually at the park about 2 blocks from our house. It is the perfect park for Cayden because he has his own basketball hoop his height :)!
Adidas or Nike? Haven't quite decided yet :)
A different hoop only higher so he needed Grandpa's help!
It was such a gorgeous weekend, couldn't have asked for better weather!
Playing frisbee with Opa!
Playing catch with Aunt Annaleyza!
The Grandmas and Cayden :)
Playing hoops with Oma
Still wanted to be lifted up at the little one :)
Both sets of Grandparents! The last time we were all together was when Cayden was 6 months and was being baptized so about 2 years later!!
In front of our house!
With the De Haans
With the De Yagers
With Aunt Annaleyza :)
One last play time with Opa before they took off on Saturday! Of course had to be playdough!
Cayden loved all the attention!!
We had a wonderful week and weekend. It felt strange when everyone left and we were just the three of us in a much bigger house! It took some time for us all to adjust to the quietness again :)! We are so blessed with wonderful parents and are thankful we all had time to spend together!!!
