Hanging Out at Home and Our "Snow Day"!

After Cayden's birthday party on January 14th things went downhill for our family.  Nolan was sick for about a week and then Cayden got very sick for a week and a half.  He ended up in urgent care one Sunday afternoon for dehydration. He did not look good at all and had lost 6 pounds, not good for a really skinny boy!  Within a few days after getting rehydrated he was eating nonstop-I could not keep enough food around the house for him! So here are the pictures of our few weeks of sickness!
Nolan watching Praise Baby while he was sick :(
Cayden playing Uncle Brett's ipod!
We were prepared for the "huge snowstorm" we were supposed to get with our sled!  The boys just liked to be pulled around in the living room by Grandpa!

Nolan was all about this!
We did get some snow that soon turned into slush-a little disappointing since they had talked the storm up so much!
Nolan's first snow!
Cayden did go and play out in the slush for about 10 minutes since it started to rain :)
We tried the sled and it worked quite well-maybe next year we will get more snow!

Nolan being silly :)
Trying to get to Daddy's iPhone-they learn so fast!
Once Nolan was healthy again, he started eating a ton of table food-which was crazy for us because Cayden was such a picky eater!
When Cayden finally started to feel better, he asked to paint! We were so thankful when he felt better! It was great to have our life-filled, energetic, happy boy back!  I have never been more thankful for his energy :)

World Grand Prix Party!

It was no surprise that Cayden wanted a Cars 2 party since he absolutely loves the movie and all the cars that go along with it :)!  We had his birthday party on January 14 and we invited his friends from our different Bible studies at church! My parents also came down for the party (and set up and clean up help :) )!

He got so many cool things-how thankful we are to his friends that brought such awesome gifts! Thanks everyone!
Nolan still partying after the party :)
It was a wonderful birthday party! I had wanted to get a picture of all the kids but that didn't happen but we feel blessed by everyone who came and loved on Cayden for his party!!

Cayden: 4 Years Old!

Our little boy turned four on January 9!!! It is really crazy that he is four already-I will probably be saying this every year, but seriously we have been parents for 4 years already!!  This past year we have seen Cayden grow into a very energetic but loving and kind little boy. It seems the coming of his little brother a number of months ago has helped Cayden develop a bit of a softer side as he now must "play gently" and "be careful" around Nolan.  Cayden spends the majority of his time at home either playing "sports" with anyone wiling to play or entertaining Nolan either in the family room or in their playroom. As you can see from pictures below, Cayden has also gotten used to posing for his mom's endless pictures. Cayden really loves his preschool and friends and this year he has begun memorizing Bible verses which is really amazing to see. We have really enjoyed watching this little man grow up and continue to trust that God will give us what we need as parents to continue raising a warrior for Christ.

On his birthday we went to Red Robin for his birthday lunch and song :)!  In the evening we made a little cake a had him open a few presents before his birthday party with his friends :)!!
