Joy Visits!

Last week my friend, Joy, came from Seattle to hang out!  We had a lot of fun and Cayden had some extra attention, which he loves :)!  It was nice to have someone else around to keep me busy while Matthew is extremely busy at school right now so she came at a great time!
Joy and Cayden playing together!
Trying to smile :)!
Hmmmm . . . I don't know where he learned this from, driving and talking on the phone (of course I always wear my blue tooth while driving :)!)!
Cayden suckered Joy into holding him so he could shoot the basketball over and over again.
Reading some stories :)

We also played some Guitar Hero on the Wii, Cayden loves to ROCK out on the drums.  He gets so into it, it is hilarious, maybe we have a drummer on our hands!
Just playing his part!
On Friday night we went to the Mariners/Angels game and my friend, Janna, was willing to babysit-what a treat!  Thanks Janna!!!
Joy's friend, Nate, got us free tickets from his students and they were awesome seats.

Matthew "holding" the A . . . Wow!  I have a talented husband!
On Saturday morning/afternoon Joy and I had a girly day complete with a shopping spree-some great deals at the GAP and a pedicure.  That was so much fun!  We then had the rest of the afternoon and evening to hang out with Cayden and watch a girly movie.  It was a lot of fun!
We brought Cayden to the playground, he just loves to be outside and it was gorgeous out!

Just some Sunday pictures before Joy took off!

What a wonderful couple of days we had!  Thanks Joy for visiting, come again soon!!!

Do You Think I Need a Haircut?

We have known for awhile that Cayden needs a haircut but we just haven't gotten around to it.  He often wakes up looking like this :)!  We will eventually get around to this task, but for now we will enjoy his crazy hair when he wakes up!!  What do you think?

The Happiest Place on Earth?

This past Saturday we decided to venture to Disneyland for my birthday.  You now get in for free on your birthday so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to go (we only had to pay for one ticket!).  I thought it would be fun to take Cayden in the morning for a few hours and then bring him back home for his nap and for Uncle Brett to watch him the rest of the day while we went back by ourselves.  However, Cayden would tell you that this is not the happiest place on earth as he was pretty much crying and unhappy the entire time.  It was hard to get this kid to smile.  I had to keep reminding him we were at the happiest place on earth, but he didn't buy it.  The long lines, the huge crowd of people, and the 80 plus degree weather was just too much for Cayden so he was much happier when we brought him back to the car to go home . . . we finally got a smile from him then!!  Here are some pictures from our 2 hours at Disneyland with Cayden.  Note to parents: Just wait til your children are old enough to enjoy it :)!!
Am I really in the happiest place on earth?  It doesn't seem like it!
Standing in line for Cayden's first ride ever: Dumbo!
Getting ready to ride!

Cayden actually really enjoyed this ride!  He thought it was cool that we went up and down!
Ride #2 The Carousel, not too pumped about this.
Still not too sure about this.
O.k. so he hated this ride!
He was fine sitting by me until they stopped the ride and said that he had to be in the seatbelt, not on my lap. Well, Cayden wasn't having that so Cayden and I hopped off the ride.  So much for the rides!
My friend, Joy (from Seattle) was there at the same time as us so we met up for part of the day!
In front of the Castle.
O.k., he had enough of this Disneyland stuff, time for a nap!
Still no smiles!
We had to get this picture right before we left since that is what pretty much everyone does!
So that was our "fun" morning at Disneyland . . . I guess we will wait a long time before we try that again!  On a positive not Matthew and I had a blast when we went back.  It was nice to spend an entire day alone doing what we wanted to do!  We also enjoyed a nice meal in Downtown Disney at The House of Blues!  We had a great time reconnecting just the two of us!  Thanks Brett for babysitting!!!!!

Easter Weekend!

After we came home from the East Coast, we spent one night at home. We unpacked and repacked and took off last Friday morning to join my parents in Palm Springs where they were on their spring break vacation. This was a great time for us to go relax, hang out by the pool, play some games, and catch up with my parents. Cayden really enjoyed being able to run outside again (a little too cold on the East Coast still :) ) and we had the chance to take him swimming a few times as well. It was a great end to our spring break!

Cayden loved to watch the ducks that were behind the house my parents rented. He even says "Quack Quack" in his own way of course when he sees them-way too cute!

My dad was brave enough to take Cayden swimming on a cooler day while the rest of us just watched from the sidelines :)!

Cayden thought playing with the ball in the pool was pretty awesome!
So much fun!
On Saturday morning my parents had found out their was an Easter egg hunt at a local park so we went there so Cayden could go on his first Easter egg hunt.
Cayden waiting with daddy to go get some eggs!
Surprisingly to us all Cayden knew exactly what to do. This was pretty hilarious to me because he was grabbing eggs two at a time and moving quite quickly. Man he keeps surprising me with the things he knows how to do!!
He was pretty proud of himself!
Cayden with Grandpa and Grandma at the park . . . he wasn't so sure about taking a picture, he just wanted to get down and play!
Swinging with Grandma . . . he really just liked to lay there and take it all in!
Our family after the Easter egg hunt!
On Saturday it was much nicer so we all went to the pool with Cayden. He loved to sit on the step and play with the water toys Grandpa and Grandma got for him!
Family picture in the pool (for some reason we all have blue swimming suits-definitely not planned. This just encourages me to get a new swimming suit so we aren't always matching when we go swimming :) )!

Cayden felt the safest in his floaty boat and loved watching us go under water and then surprise him!
The boys playing Jeopardy after a day in the sun!
We were also able to celebrate my upcoming birthday with the famous Dairy Queen cake!!
Easter morning we went to church and then came back to do our own rendition of an Easter egg hunt. And of course get some pictures of Cayden in his Easter outfit!
Cayden's Easter Basket!
Cayden looking through his Easter basket.  He loves this toy that spins and lights up mostly because he can press the button himself to make it happen!
Going on the Easter egg hunt with Grandma. He thought that he had to throw the eggs back in the bushes, what a crazy kid but it was hilarious!
Wahoo for Easter toys!
Filling up the Easter basket!
Opening the Easter eggs . . . not all filled with candy, some were filled with graham cookies and fish crackers, and some filled with mini M&Ms (Cayden's favorite!)!
This was the happiest picture I got all day!
Uncle Brett with Cayden!
Not so sure about this . . . he was getting tired and hungry!
I guess I will take this picture for my mom, but I really don't want to!
Hope everyone had a great Easter Day celebrating what Jesus did for us!  What an amazing and selfless thing He did to save us from our sins and give us the best present of all: Eternal life!  Have a great week everyone!

Thanks Mom and Dad for a great weekend, looking forward to seeing you guys again soon!!
