Monterey Bay!

On Wednesday August 18, we were in Monterey Bay and went to the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. This was a very awesome aquarium! I would definitely recommend going there sometime if you are in the area! We had a lot to do and see there so it kept us busy for the morning hours and even went back after lunch for awhile before heading to San Francisco!
Family Picture
Daddy and Cayden looking at the jellyfish!
More fish
Cayden trying to look out into the ocean, I don't think he actually saw anything :)
3 Feet Tall! Crazy how fast he is growing!
In the kids area playing-they had a lot for kids to do there it was awesome!

Looking at more fish :)
Trying to find the sharks with Mommy!

Turtles!
Monterey Bay
Cayden got to choose a lollipop after lunch, I am pretty sure we eventually threw it away and he never finished it :)
More playing in the kids area
He found his favorite thing to do-jumping on this trampoline thing filled with water!
He did somersaults onto the trampoline
And had a blast!
:)
Didn't quite get it but really wanted to do it!
We had a blast at the aquarium and seeing Monterey! Still were only half-way done with our trip at this point: On to San Francisco!

Our Road Trip: Santa Barbara!

On the 16th of August we left our home in Azusa and after a few more good-byes we drove to Santa Barbara and spent the night in a hotel. We were exhausted from the past month of craziness so we went to bed really early that night! When we woke up we went to check out some of Santa Barbara.
When I had gone to Santa Barbara last spring with some friends we road a Surrey Bike and I knew that Cayden and Matthew would enjoy that so we rented a bike for a few hours!
Cayden not so sure (about the helmet)
Not a very good picture but the first one the guy took didn't have our faces in it :)
Cayden soon discovered the bell and didn't stop! It is so loud!!!
I think he looked awesome in a helmet :)
The bike
Next we walked out onto the pier, it was a gorgeous day!
Me and my little boy!

We let Cayden pick out a few saltwater taffys at a little store on the pier!
He loved it!
On to more driving!!!

Moving Day :(

On August 15, the movers came and loaded up all our stuff. We have a lot more stuff then I thought we did! I don't know how we managed to fit it all in our 2 bedroom condo! I must have got real good at organizing because it all fit somewhere :)!
So this was before the movers came and loaded up all our stuff!
Stuff everywhere!
This was how we were living for about a month :)
Cayden's last time in his crib!
Cayden wanting to be packed up too :)
A few last pictures outside our condo

Moving the stuff down to the truck (I know exciting huh?)
Our place that is currently up for rent!
The truck
So I just want to let everyone know that they should not use Door 2 Door Moving company, they were not very good at all and caused us some great headaches along the way. But we have all our stuff (some broken but we still have it!).
All of it loaded and ready for Oregon!
Cayden after everything was moved out. We spent the night in our empty house for one night, it was kind of sad and not very comfortable :)!
I can't believe this was almost 2 months ago, in some ways it has gone by quickly and others not so much! But we are thankful we are done moving, I wouldn't recommend moving very often! It is a lot of work!!!

Packing up and More Good-byes

Once we had come back from Iowa we pretty much packed up two or three boxes a day for about a month. So packing seemed to take forever but slowly but surely we finished packing-we have a lot more stuff than we anticipated! Let's just say Goodwill got a lot of new items from the De Haan household! In the mix of our final weeks of packing were all our "lasts" with friends and at certain places we like to eat at in California (In-N-Out)! Here are some pictures of our last few weeks in Azusa!
Starting the packing process, unfortunately Cayden's room held a lot of the boxes once they got packed!
Taking things off our wall-so sad, this is when I realized that we were really moving.
Cayden wasn't that big of help but he got to play a lot of iPhone while we packed :)

Some last times swimming with the Konoskes: Here is Oliver crawling-so cute!
Trying to get a picture of the three kids-didn't really work
They were practicing jumping in
Playing on Roman's bike at the park after we had dinner one night with the Kuiper's at the park!
I think I know what he wants for his Birthday :)
Brenda, Melissa, Anna, and Salpy-loved the moments I had with these girls this past year. They were and are such a blessing in my life!
Miss them!
Playing with Isabella for the final time at the playground!
They had a lot of fun times together!
Playing at the Konoskes with Elliot, Cayden still "plays" with Elliot to this day. So sad that it is just a pretend Elliot!
The competition never ends with De Haans and the Konoskes although this time it was who could jump further off the swing: the girls or the boys. They boys really struggled with this and the girls took the prize!
They really could not get that far from the swing, it was hilarious! We will be trying this again when we visit!!!
