Christmas Fun!

Christmas morning we woke up to some snow starting to pile up outside. The predictions were that is was going to be a lot worse so we were surprised to see there wasn't too much snow . . . yet! We spent Christmas day hanging out around the house with Matthew's mom and Grandma. It was a pretty relaxed day but it felt nice to just take it easy and enjoy the day!
Here is Cayden sitting by GG (Great Grandma)
Cayden playing some "Christmas music" for us!
We had a very nice dinner prepared by Matthew's mom which included Beef Wellington, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and lots of yummy salads! (Cayden was napping so we had a peaceful dinner :) )!!
In the afternoon the snow started to pile up on the driveway and needed to be shoveled. Cayden wanted to help!
But since he refused to wear boots and mittens and the rest of the snow gear-he was exiled back into the house after about 3 minutes of snow fun! It was just way too cold to be outside!
After the driveway was shoveled, we went in to celebrate Matthew's birthday! Here is Cayden helping Oma and GG put the candles on the cake. He was a little excited to eat the cake!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Matthew! What a wonderful blessing this guy is in my life and I am so thankful for him! I love you Matthew and I pray you have a wonderful year as we go through many transitions together!!!
Family picture by the cake!
And another one to get everyone in it :)!
Cayden helping Daddy blow out all his candles!
The best part . . . eating the cake . . . with no hands because then they would get dirty if we ate it that way :)!
Oma and GG couldn't resist giving Cayden a few presents on Christmas day :)
Oma, Opa, and Aunt Annaleyza gave Cayden a recordable book, "The Night Before Christmas" so he can hear them reading to him! Such a cute idea!
His all time favorite present that day was a new toothbrush and Thomas the Train toothpaste! Thanks GG!
A lot of time in Pella was spent doing this:
Family picture on Christmas Day, Cayden never quite made it out of his Christmas jammies :)
A picture of everyone! We had such a great day celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ! We pray that you and your family did as well!!!

Was Matthew's cake in the shape of a Christmas Stocking? At first I thought it was a piece of pizza, then decided it might be a stocking...hmmm the perks of your birthday and Christmas so close together. lol
