We decided to make a trip to Pella on May 2-6 for me and the boys first ever Tulip Time! Tulip Time is a Dutch festival with traditional foods, dancing, activities, lots of tulips (there were none this year since the weather was too nice throughout spring so they bloomed and died too early), and a lot of parades for a whole weekend! We flew out of Seattle since it was a lot cheaper so we stayed a few days at my parent's house first!

When we first got there on Wednesday we had Cayden signed up for the Klompen Kids Classic race! He was super pumped about it!

And he took off and was in second place for most of the race
Then he tripped and fell :( he was a little shaken up but got up and finished the race 3rd :)
We are proud of him for not giving up! The popsicle and ribbon helped ease the pain!
Then they had the adult 5K race. Heather and I ran/walked it in the super hot and humid weather!
Matthew's Aunt, Matthew, and Dad also walked it!
