I know this is long over due once again, I decided that I blog about every 3 months and always try to get better but life is busy and this is something that gets put on hold a lot! Anyways, let's back track all the way to March 21 when we took a family vacation to Galveston, Texas to meet our good friends the Van Arendonks! We had a few stipulations of where to go: it had to be warm, by the water, and in the middle of Portland and Baltimore. So Texas it was!
After a long day of travel we arrived at "The Honey Hole" to find our 10 month olds in their Puma outfits :)
Cayden and Anika got a long great! The kids loved to be outside on this awesome deck we had! It was so nice for us Oregonians to have warmth!!
Of course we spent some good time at the beach! Here is Nolan's first time at the beach!
He seemed to like it!
Cayden loved it too-he just loved running in the waves :)
Both the boys playing in the ocean :)
And in the sand
Cayden showing off his muscles :)
Family picture :)
And Nolan was back in the sand, he had no problem getting sand everywhere!!
Cayden didn't mind either-this is growth for our little clean boy :)
And then the sticks came out and entertained all the kids for quite sometime
And Cayden got to write his name in the sand!
Me with my little one :)
The Mommy's with the 10 month olds: Nolan and Amira are one day apart!
Cayden just had a blast at the beach!!
Nolan also just enjoyed a bucket of water on the deck!
One night we decided to go mini golfing, Cayden of course was all about it!
Nolan was pumped when he got to hold the golf ball!
Had to get a picture of the little Dutch kids in front of the windmill :)
Pictures at the beach one night!
And the last morning at the Honey Hole :) The kids are being silly here!
One group picture before we took off!
Hitting up a park before we went to the airport!
Upon arriving home we decided to have Nolan brush his two little teeth for the first time, he really loved it! Mostly just biting on the brush!
And recuperating after our trip :)
Here is a side note of our trip to Texas: 3 out of 4 of our family had the flu while we were there. It started with Nolan, went to Melissa, and then Cayden caught it the last night :(. It was a rough go and a lot of cleaning up throw up but we were thankful for the Van Arendonks who were super helpful and understanding! At the time is was very overwhelming but looking back, we can kind of laugh about it and we were thankful it stopped at our family! Melissa and Cayden only seemed to have it for 24 hours but poor little Nolan had flu like symptoms for over a week. It was a rough go for Nolan and we were thankful once we got home and could have the Doctor seem him because on top of that he had a double ear infection. Poor timing for it all but we made it through! Although we were dealing with sickness, it was great to be with our good friends and we are hoping to go on another sick free trip with them again :)!!
