On March 12-15 we headed back down to Azusa, CA so Matthew could defend his dissertation. Cayden and I tagged along so that we could see our friends down there and get a little sunshine :)! I am proud to say that Matthew passed his dissertation defense and is now one step closer to being graduated, at least there is no more school work involved! We had a lot of fun visiting with all our friends and being able to catch up. It is amazing that about 7 months later, Azusa still felt like home to us. It just felt so normal and after months of getting used to life in Oregon, it was refreshing to just feel somewhat "normal" again! We feel blessed that we were able to catch up with so many people and we had an enjoyable few days!
Our first night we stayed with Matt and Robyn Hoekstra and their new addition, Emma, who we got to meet for the first time! So much fun to see Emma and awesome to be able to catch up with them again! Thanks for letting us stay with you guys!!! Here is Cayden and Emma :)
The next two nights we stayed with the Konoskes. Cayden, Libby, and Elliot wasted no time and played so well together the entire time! Cayden had a blast with them, it felt like we never left them! Cayden and I spent a lot of time at their house while we lived there so we had a blast with them!
They all wanted me to keep taking pictures and then had to look at every single one :)
Matthew on the day of his dissertation defense! And he passed, we were so excited and relieved for him to be finished!! Congratulations Dr. Matthew De Haan!!!
We had a chance to meet our old neighbors and dear friends. Cayden and Isabella played a lot together and little Alex was just a baby when we left! So fun to see them again!
Libby and Cayden were quite the pair while we were there and were almost constantly together the entire few days :)

Janna, Troy, and Tristan happened to be visiting from Chicago so we were able to meet them for breakfast and hang out with them a few different times while we were there. So that was an added bonus to be able to see them too! We are getting spoiled seeing them twice in just a few months :). We always love hanging out with them! Elliot, Tristan, and Cayden :)

On top of all the play dates we were also able to go back to COD (our old church) and see a lot people and catch up with them as well as some lunch dates and coffee dates! Needless to say we were super busy so three days was not enough time but it was so worth it to see everyone again! We can't wait to go back in July for Matthew's graduation and visit everyone again!
