On Sunday night Matthew and I, Brett, and his room mate (Matt) drove back to Azusa leaving Cayden with my parents. We were so thankful that my parents were willing to take Cayden for a few days! I realized that I haven't been home without Cayden since he was born (maybe an hour here or there) so it was so crazy to have a quiet house for a few days! It was a glorious feeling to clean and have it stay clean for more than 20 minutes :). Matthew and I had a lot of good, quality time together to reflect and talk about a lot of things and had a really good time. We went out both nights and at one point we left at 7:00 p.m. (Cayden's bedtime) and Matthew said to me, "We are both leaving the house and it is 7:00!" On Monday, I was able to go to Glen Ivy (a spa) with a bunch of girls to hang out and relax-so fun!!! Thanks Mom and Dad for watching Cayden, we greatly appreciated it!!
I went back to Palm Springs on Wednesday and my Grandpa and Grandma Van Essen and my brother, Shaun, drove over from Arizona to meet us! It was so nice to see Cayden again!! Here is kind of what the week looked like . . .
