Interview #2: Portland, OR and Hanging Out in Seattle!

On Cayden's 2nd birthday (January 9) Cayden and I flew from Denver to Seattle while Matthew flew back home to work. Matthew joined us on Wednesday in time for his interview in Portland, OR on Thursday.
Cayden was still feeling pretty sick when we arrived in Seattle and still was feverish off and on. It wasn't until Monday when his temperature was pretty high (104 degrees) and his heart was racing that I got pretty worry. So with the help of my friend, Joy, she pulled some strings and got us into see my old doctor as a child. So we got right in and he looked in his ears and sure enough, pretty bad double ear infection. The weird part was that he never once grabbed at his ears the entire time, so it didn't even cross my mind that he had an ear infection. Needless to say, I felt like a bad mom that I didn't have him checked sooner. So after we gave him some antibiotics, he slowly perked up to his normal self! Thank goodness because he had lost about 4 pounds, which doesn't seem like a lot, but with Cayden being smaller anyway he was looking pretty bad!
The first few days of our stay at my parents house, Cayden did a lot of this. He really preferred to sleep on the big bed versus his crib. I just let it slide since he was feeling horrible and it seemed to work out well!
By Tuesday Cayden was starting to feel better so we were still able to have a playdate with Alyssa and Evan. He had a lot of fun being around other children again!
Don't they look like they could possibly be related? Maybe not completely but the blonde hair, blue eyes can trick anyone :)! So cute!
Evan, Alyssa, and Cayden ALL looking! Yea!!! So much fun to catch up with you guys again!
Thursday Matthew and I drove down to Portland while Grandpa and Grandma watched Cayden for us. It took us about 3 hours to get there and it wasn't a bad drive at all. It would definitely be a lot nicer to live closer to family, but we will see. Matthew's interview went really well (at least he had a good feeling) and he was pretty excited about this site. But we will see what God has in mind for us. Matthew has one more interview at Loma Linda still and then we will wait until the middle of February to find out anything! Just praying God will place us where He can best use us!
Friday was probably the most exciting for Cayden as he got to go to Uncle Shaun's basketball game!
Uncle Shaun threw Cayden a T-shirt and he wanted to wear it right away! Here he is with Aunt Natasha just taking it all in!
Watching Basketball and eating M&Ms!
Watching intently with Grandpa!
Climbed to the top of the bleachers to visit Aunt Courtney!
After the game (with the victory!), Cayden was all about playing basketball!
I have started to envision what my life may look like . . . a lot of basketball games! YEA!
Our little basketball player!
The form is already coming along :)!
Cayden with Uncle Shaun after the game!
My friend Joy came along with us! I was also able to hang out with her and my other friend Val quite a bit! So fun to be with these girls again!!!
Cayden wanted to "help" Grandma sew his pants-she was trying to take the waist in since he is too skinny for some of his pants!
All of us with Natasha
Cayden and Aunt Natasha-such a cute picture of them :)!!
All of us with Shaun and Courtney
All of us with my parents
We had a lot of fun even if Cayden was sick for a majority of the time. It was a blessing to have extra hands while Cayden was sick-thanks Mom and Dad! Please continue to keep us in your prayers over the next few months as there is a possibility of lots of changes coming up!

Yeah, go Oregon! Well it looks like you had another great trip and time with family and friends. Sorry to hear about Caydens ear infection. Gald to hear he is back to normal.

Cayden looks so big playing with the basketball. :o) I'm barely getting Isabella to catch a ball, I really need to put more effort into her coordination.
