Weekend Fun!

This past weekend was a lot of fun! Friday afternoon Matthew got his long awaited haircut given by me. Now I hate giving him haircuts because I feel like I am not that good at it but surprisingly it turned out pretty good for a change! Friday night we went to a Dordt alumni tailgating party for a free dinner at Ontario Christian. We did not really know too many people as many of them were a lot older than us. But we met our friends Matt and Robyn after that to go to the football game. However due to it finally being cold outside Robyn, Cayden, and I left and went back to their house while the boys went to the football game. After the football game we just hung out and talked for a long time (I think we got home after 1:00 am which is pretty late for us parents :) ), thankfully Cayden was able to go to bed there in the pack and play so that worked out nicely. Saturday we had a family day and went to Bonelli State Park. We just discovered that there was a lake about 10 miles from us with a lot of nice walking paths, hiking trails, and other recreational activities. It was a lot of fun to get out in the cool weather and take a walk along the water. Cayden loves being outside so this was a nice, quiet place for us to go, not to mention beautiful! We then came home and made a lot of applesauce (which Cayden loves!) and just hung out because it was raining outside!!! Yea for the rain, a much needed break from the 90 degree plus weather we have been getting. I was thankful for a nice relaxing weekend where I was able to spend time with my husband and son. Since Matthew is so busy during the week it is nice to have the weekends with him! Now we are back to the busy week and VERY hot weather (it was near 100 today and it is October! CRAZY!). Cayden and I are looking forward to a day at the zoo on Thursday with the mom's group I am in!
