Everything is going well with Cayden this week. We started off the week right with a Charger victory over the defending Super Bowl Champion Colts. In addition, Cayden is getting better at sleeping a little longer during the night. He is now generally sleeping until around 4 a.m. and then waking up to eat. After being fed, he now goes back to sleep until later on in the morning. We went to the hospital on Tuesday morning to see a pediatrician who told us that Cayden looks very healthy. We also recieved confirmation that Cayden is a crazy sucker, literally. We had been a little worried that he wasn't get enough to eat through the first couple of days because he would only eat for about 5 to 10 minutes. It turns out, however, that he just happens to be very efficient in his eating. He can eat a "full meal" in those ten minutes, so the doctors told us we have nothing to worry about.
I also returned to class this week after taking the last half of last week off. It feels good get back into the swing of things and it makes it that much more exciting when I get to come home to my wife and son. Of course, having Melissa's mom around to help Melissa out has been a wonderful blessing too. In addition to Cayden's Grandma De Yager, we have Cayden's great - grandma and grandpa Van Essen around who drove over from Arizona. In the coming weeks, we have Uncle Shaun and Aunt Courtney coming, Grandpa and Grandma De Haan, Uncle Derek and Aunt Lindsey, and Aunt Natasha. Should be a fun month or so! We have also had a number of friends over to see Cayden. But enough about us, right now I think it is time to get the serious business of the AFC Championship game coming up this weekend between the New England Patriots and the San Diego (Super)Chargers!
Obviously, having lived for two years across the street from Qualcomm stadium, I root for the Chargers! I have also been rooting for every team that has played the Patriots this season as I hate listening to how great Tom Brady is and what a mastermind Bill Belichik is. The bottom line is, the Patriots are bunch of cocky guys who got caught cheating at the beginning of the year. As a result of being called out on their cheating ways, they decided to run up the score on teams whenever they could. Is that the kind of team anyone outside of Boston wants to root for? I could go on about how much I dislike the Patriots, but I digress. I just hope all of the Chargers can play this weekend. I know a lot of people out there are saying the Chargers have no chance against the mighty Patriots. I say, that's why we play the games! The Chargers showed a lot of heart last weekend being severely banged up against the Colts. Let's see how it goes this weekend. This is the best football game left of the season anyway. Anybody who has been watching pro football for the last couple seasons knows whoever wins this game is going to win the Super Bowl. It doesn't matter who wins the JV Championship ga - whoops, I mean the NFC Championship game. So this Sunday, take the Lord's day to rest and give thanks for all the blessings God has given us! Then Go Chargers, and may the best team win!

That was like a lifetime of info about the Chargers for me :)
Sounds like things continue to go well. You guys will stay busy with all the company, but I am sure it is good to have family around.
Is Melissa feeling okay? Again we wish we could be there,
Kelli
