August 6-12 we went with my family to Hat Island, a small Island in the San Juan Islands. My parents rented a beach house for our entire family to go and hang out at and relax! The boys and I went early with my parents and Brett on Saturday, Natasha came on Sunday, Matthew came on Tuesday, and Shaun, Courtney, and Kaylee came on Wednesday!
Nolan's first boat ride :)
On the beach ready to make a sandcastle!
Finished product!
Natasha, Cayden, and I going for a kayak ride! It was gorgeous weather!
There's the house we stayed in plus Brett's fort that he built one day!
The boys hanging out with Uncle Brett!
Hanging out with Grandpa!
The first few days, Brett and I put together three 1,000 piece puzzles! It was a little bit crazy but so relaxing!
Grandma with the magic touch-Nolan came down with a cold/fever while we were there, so it was difficult for him to sleep :(
Since the Island is so small, the ferry only comes on certain days. So Natasha came up with a crazy idea to have Brett kayak to a neighboring Island (about 3ish miles) where a ferry came every 1/2 hour and pick up Matthew! So Matthew wrapped all his belongings in trash bags and came over a day early! They were both pretty wiped out after that but it was so great to have Matthew with us a day early! And we have a good story now :)
Bath time in the sink :)
We played a lot of games-so fun!
Kaylee and Cayden had fun playing in the water on the deck!
And there was a tiny park on the Island that we drove Cayden to daily for him to have something fun to do!!
Family picture!
I guess the kayak adventure wasn't enough. Brett and Matthew then had a "race" in the freezing water!
And they were even more wiped out after that since the water was so cold and they were all out of sorts for awhile!
Lots of picture opportunities!
Cayden 3 1/2
Kaylee 8 1/2 months
Nolan 3 months
We got them all looking at the same time :)
The trip was a lot of fun and relaxing but after being on a remote Island for a week, it was nice to go back to civilization and have a change of scenery :)! Thanks Mom and Dad for the great trip!!!
