Apple Picking!!

Last week Saturday, September 26, we went up to Oak Glenn with some friends to go apple picking. We went to Riley's Farm where they had numerous activities going on. Usually you think of picking apples in the fall when it is cool outside. Well this was not the case for us as it was nearly 100 degrees that day, it felt o.k. in the shade but you didn't want to be out in the sun for too long. Thankfully you pick apples off the tree, so we could be in the shade! It was a lot of fun seeing Cayden get into it . . . he didn't quite follow the "apple college" rules about twisting the apples off, but he did pretty well!
Walking to the orchard after our hay ride! Of course Cayden had to carry the bucket, good thing it was just his size!
Picking apples!
He got one!
Oh and then he started picking them up off the ground and putting them in the basket. Let's just say we had to sort the apples after that!
Too cute!
Our little family. Cayden refused to put down the apple picker (used to reach apples way up in the tree), I think that was his favorite part!

Another photo op for the family!
Cayden enjoyed playing in the tree!
Here are the apples we picked . . . this was the largest size basket you could get and it wasn't very cheap . . . oh well, it was a lot of fun!
After we picked apples we found some shade and this little pond and ate a picnic lunch. Cayden had to go check out the water.
After we finished up at Riley's Farm we ventured a little further up the mountain and found another farm. This one had animals that Cayden could pet. I was glad I didn't have to be the one to help him out-thanks Matt!
Petting the goat!
I hope to make apple picking a tradition no matter where we live. It is so much fun and a really kid friendly activity. Can't wait til next year!

That apple picture looks VERY professional! Nice. You should sell it to a magazine! :)
